Addy Turns 6

Addy's birthday fell on a Tuesday, a school day, so we planned her party for that weekend.  On her birthday, she woke up to a couple of presents to open...a big box of Lucky Charms and a new Razr scooter that she had been asking for.

London, Ethan and I picked up Addy's favorite birthday lunch and went and ate with her at the cafeteria

Then we took her class donuts to celebrate her big day.  This is everyone singing to her.

She was pretty excited about the whole thing.  They weren't allowed to start eating their donuts until Addy took the first bite...her little sister, however, in the back, did not follow directions.

Butterfield Canyon Fun Run 2012

As a fundraiser, Addy's school holds a fun run at Herriman High School.  Prior to the event, they send home a big manilla envelope where the kids are supposed to go around and ask for a flat donation.  Addy was so excited to go around to all the neighbors and ask for money.  I told her that maybe we should just stick to family since almost everyone in our neighborhood had kids that they had to pay for as well.

Addy:  But Mom, they said we need to ask friends and neighbors too!

And Addy, being known for her strict obedience to everyone but her parents, did not want to let her school down.  So we picked a few homes of empty-nesters in our neighborhood and she figured out what she wanted to say, and off she went to beg for money.  (embarrassing!)

Luckily, we have super kind neighbors who made her feel like a complete success!  Add in Grandma and Grandpas and she felt like she had definitely done her part for the school.

Thank you to all!!

And then they were off!  Addy did a great job running 4 times around the track.  After the first lap, London wanted to join her and surprisingly didn't stop until she finished too.
(Not sure who the girl in front in purple is, but man did I get a good action shot of her!)

Brigham City Temple Open House

While Addy was off track, we decided to buzz up to Brigham City to see the newest Utah temple with our friends.  We had heard of long, long, long lines at night, so we decided to leave Dad out of this trip and just go during the day.  There were no lines which made for a nice trip with young kiddos.

Ethan: Eight Months Old

Have I mentioned how much we love this little guy?
Still my happiest, smiliest, snuggliest little buddy yet!

Ethan & Gma Carlson

He is eating almost anything with those 8 chompers, including watermelon rinds.

He's become a big fan of the "Jonny Jumper."

He LOVES his Dad!  Jonathan has been super busy for the past couple months with work and school which means he doesn't see the kids for a couple of days during the week.  When he is home, Ethan will not take his eyes off of him.

Other tricks include a pretty impressive "motorboat" mouth.  He does it out of frustration when I am changing his diaper, but then once the girls started doing it to him, he answered right back.
He is still nursing but I am working on weaning him...those eight teeth are killing me.
He has good weeks of sleep and not-so-good weeks, usually related to being congested, having an ear infection, getting teeth, etc.
He is happy in his carseat mostly because I've refined the art of reaching my arm directly behind the driver seat to give him something to munch on.  I need to upgrade to a bigger carseat since his legs are way too long for the baby one we have now.

He brings us so much joy and I just couldn't imagine our little family without our little (BIG) Ethan!

London's First Day of Joy School

London is doing Joy School this year with 7 other little friends in the neighborhood.  She is loving it!  She has mentioned how much she loves her "preschool brothers" in particular.  Here is the classic front porch pictures with her sister in chronological order:

London, don't hold yourself.

London!

Thumbs up attempt.
