Christmas 2009

Our Christmas celebrations began December 23rd with dinner at the Eberhardts
Misha, Sami, Addy

London was teething :-)

"Mom, I wasn't shy for Santa!"

Addy played Mary

The Nativity with "Soy Tad" as baby Jesus (just a little sacreligious) because London wasn't cooperating

We spent Christmas Eve with my family and forgot my camera. There are some cute pictures from doing The Nativity with the cousins as well as a "jammie picture" that I'll need to steal off Jenni's blog...if she posts them.

Christmas Morning
(Addy: 3 yrs, London 7 mo)

Santa brought just what Addy asked for...a princess bike!

Christmas Day

Addy wanted me to take multiple pictures of her riding her bike, around and around the island.

She'll be a great missionary, riding her bike in her dress and all
We had a wonderful Christmas! We are truly grateful for the birth, life, and death of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Addy's First Dance Recital

They did a darling tap dance called, "Ellie the Elf"

Annie, Addy, Emmy (cute cousins)

cute costumes!
Addy actually danced (I'll try to post video) and did a great job! We were sure grateful for the slightly older, more coordinated girl who was strategically placed in the center so that all the girls could watch her and remember what the heck they were doing. When it was all over and we were going to pick up our kids off the stage, I may have yelled at some mom that due to her haste, totally body-checked Addy to the ground which left her with a shiner for a couple days. I may have used a swear word or two, and I may not be really proud about that, but I really don't feel too bad. It may have felt kinda good to actually speak my mind rather than say, "It's okay, she's fine."
This was not only Addy's first dance recital, but also her dad's first recital too. Growing up in a family with 4 boys, not much opportunity to be exposed to this art. I, on the other hand, have participated in a few. This show, however, was fantastic. It was just over an hour, had entertaining Christmas music for the dancers, and flowly nicely. It was at Riverton High School, so it was close and convenient for us west-siders. Cons: There weren't enough seats for all in attendance and there was 1 small music issue, but all in all, it was great!
So, we get out to the car after it was all over, and my darling, dance-recital viewing virgin husband says,
"Oh man! Tiffany (the director) is going to get it from the parents. She's going to be in so much trouble."
Me: (processing, processing) Why?
Jonny: Because it was so crowded and then they had to go get the back-up music...
Me: Uh, yeah. That's no big deal. Most dance recitals are like 3 hours long and really far away and really boring.
Jonny: oh.
He can't wait for the spring recital. :-)
I think I'll go pull out some old Coug videos and have him watch me in all my glory.

Look Who's Crawling

6 month check-up:
25th percentile weight
97th percentile height
(shocker!)
3 immunizations
1 H1N1 shot
1 flu shot
and 1 ear infection
and she was still happy!

Fun in the Snow

Jack, Addy, and Calvin

Boys vs. Girls

After getting 3 3-year-olds dressed in all their snow clothes, I opened the door and in two seconds the boys were in the snow. Addy was still scoping out her surroundings and making sure her mittens matched her coat.

Happy Girl!

Polar Express Birthday Party

Addy got invited to her friend Davis' 5-year-old Polar Express Birthday Party! They were supposed to wear their pajamas. She was so excited to go and I was really nervous that her 3-year-old behavior would shine through. I talked extensively with her about being a "good girl" and not taking Davis' presents and not trying to open Davis' presents. She had a GREAT time and didn't stop talking about it all night!

Tiffany's Dance Class

Addy and her galloping friend Alyssa

So what if she's not flexible and her feet are sickled...she still is having fun.

Tubby Time

Silly Faces

She won't smile for the camera, but ask her to make some funny faces, and she's nothing but cooperative!

Good Morning Girlies!

"I Do It Myself!"

This is what happens when Addy insists on dressing herself

She wears a long-sleeved shirt as pants

And the top is backwards and inside out...and plenty warm for a cold, fall day...
but she did do it herself.
