Another darling Grandma Cozy cake creation.

London: 1 Year Old

Stats:
Weight: 18.5 lbs (15th percentile)
Height: 30.5 inches (90th percentile)

The doctor looked at her weight and said, "Wow, she's just a petite little thing," until he looked at her height and took back his comment. I told him that "petite" just doesn't really run in either of our families.

London is such a happy girl.  She mastered walking on her birthday.  It's like it just clicked and she was off.  For the first few days, she seemed to be able to walk better if she had something in her hand, which was Addy's swimsuit for most of this day.

She loves to sleep with her head pressed against the railing of the crib and her bum in the air.

Oh, those eyelashes!

She can say "ma ma" and "da da" and "night night".
She is STILL nursing but we are working daily on the sippee cup of milk.
She blows on any food I put on her tray.
If I tell her I want kisses and make a kissing sound, she head butts me.
 She sleeps like a champ...finally!
She has learned how to throw a little fit if her big sister takes something away.
She scared us with 2 good tumbles down our stairs and the concrete patio stairs at my parents, but was AOK.  Who gave her that walker anyway?!?
Nickname: Little Stinkers which often becomes just Tinkers
8 teeth
She has her Grandpa John's electric blue eyes that complete strangers will comment on.

We are so glad you are a part of our family!

Happy Birthday Mom!

We celebrated my Mom's birthday at Texas Roadhouse with all of my siblings except my brother Owen who lives in Hong Kong (we missed you guys!)  My little brother Alex just got engaged to a darling girl Lena who we can't wait to have join our crazy family.  Congrats Alex!

Joy School at the Zoo

Our neighborhood Joy School finished off the year with a trip to the zoo.  Addy has really enjoyed Tuesdays and Thursdays with these cute kids.  We had a fun few hours and only lost Roman once.

Checking out baby Zuri

The male giraffe was a little excited, if you know what I mean, and kept chasing his lady friend.  I kind of felt embarrassed to be standing there.  The girl giraffe kept running away from him and I wanted to yell, "Hey buddy...she's not interested!"  Mostly because I didn't want to have the birds and the bees talk with Addy at the zoo.

Three Braids

So, Addy doesn't love getting her hair done.  I can usually do it without much complaining when she's finishing her breakfast and I turn on PBS.  I usually give her 2 options and let her choose.  This particular day she chose braids.  Great!  And off I went...until...I finished with her two braids and she felt her hair and started freaking out because she didn't want two braids, she wanted three braids because she is three years old.  Duh Mom!  Not really wanting to fight this battle, I obliged and this is how I made my three year old happy.

I'm sure those she came in contact with wondered if she lived with a drunk mother, but who knows, this could start a new trend.

Goldilocks Women's Only Bike Event

I am a part of the very prestigious Healthy Herriman Committee.  And by prestigious I mean, anyone who can get themselves to City Hall the first Tuesday of the month, can be on this committee.  My sister is also a part of this committee.  Well, every year we put together Pedal Palooza for the great community of Herriman and this year we added a women's only bike ride with over 600 riders called Goldilocks.  My sister was in charge of the whole thing and did an AMAZING job!

Here I am with my biking friends, Melissa, Lindsay, Jenni, and Lisa.  I helped out at the lunch stop which my Mom catered, therefore, no riding for me.  My two girls came to visit.  (Thanks for the pictures Melissa)

Rest Stop with beautiful Kennecott Copper Mine in the background

Lunch.  Yum.
My cute grandma came to help too.  My mom is a fabulous caterer and did a great job with lunch.  She made 3 kinds of homemade cookies and had them in the glass jars at the end.  Had to laugh everytime people would ask, "Where did you get these cookies?"  My mom would say, "Uh, my oven."

Overall, it was a huge success and we are looking to double the numbers for next year and make it even bigger and better!!

Addy at her Finest

A:  Hey Mom...why does some food live in the pantry and some food live in the refridgerator?

Instead of saying "I don't know,"  she says, "I can't think about it."
Example:
Me:  Addy, what's that tall girl's name in your dance class?
A:  I can't think about it.

To anything I suggest, she retorts, "Mom, I've got a better idea."

She is LOVING playing with friends and always suggests that they play..
"a little bit at Megan's house and a litle bit at Addy's house."

This morning she was saying that they are learning about the letter "Y" in joy school and then they just have "Z" and then she's going to be all done.  (Because what more is there to learn?)  I told her that she was going to start a new preschool in the fall with Miss Tricia.
A:  (matter of factly) Atricia?  That's a Paleopatraus.
(confused, but assuming it has something to do with Dinosaur Train)

Addy's loves having Tiana come and babysit.  It has a lot to do with her love affair with Princess and the Frog, but Tiana is darling and plays with Addy and lets Addy boss her around so it's no wonder why Addy always requests her.  She always wants me to do her hair how Tiana had her hair done.  And when Tiana walked in the door yesterday, Addy immediately and proudly lifted her nightgown to show Tiana her new "Tiana panties."  Poor Tiana, she wasn't sure what to do...awkward.

London, You Faker!

London has never liked a binky, from the time she was a newborn. I tried forcing her to take it which she occasionally did up until she was about 6 months old, and then she really didn't want it. Addy found the stash of binkies on London's shelf and took them to play with her babies.

London found the stash and the rest of the day she would walk around with them upside down, chewing on them hanging out the side of her mouth...like she knew what they were for.

And then she found Addy's sidewalk chalk.

As of May 1st, she has taken her first steps without the walker and is getting better and better everyday.  Just about 6 months sooner than Addy.
