Halloween (or Halloween in Utah...the 30th)

After Dad winterized the yard and got caught in the rain, he happily got the pumpkins ready to carve (my least-favorite Halloween pastime)

The happy girls eager to brave the cold and rain to fill up those candy buckets!
London lasted about 30 minutes and then Addy didn't want to stop.  Jonathan and I took turns and I had to talk her into going home because I was so cold.  We had a fun night after trick-or-treating at our neighbor's house, The Freemans.  They have a fun tradition of hot chocolate, soup and smore's after trick-or-treating.  No pictures, but just imagine yummy food and a chaos-filled house with oodles of kiddos hopped up on sugar!

Trunk Or Treat

Our ward had a really fun trunk-or-treat at a dead end street near our neighborhood.  I decided to use London as my inspiration and decorate our car like the beach.
We won "Best Decorated" trunk, mostly because most people didn't decorate.

The straight-faced princesses Caroline & Addy

Gorgeous sunset

Who needs decorations when you have Gus the Bulldog in your trunk?

Our ocean friendly friends London & London.

Just in Case

London found her little bike helmet in the garage while I was decorating our trunk.  Turns out she didn't want to take it off the rest of the day.

Just enjoying a tasty lunch...very safely.

Eberhardt Family Halloween Party 2010

Every year Grandma Sans hosts a fun Halloween Party at her home.  We missed The Oklahoma Eberhardts!

Sami the sequined cowgirl and Belle (with turtleneck because the costume is too itchy!)

Our cute pink octopus which her hood was observed to look like a polka-dotted condom...just sayin.

Decorating cookie boxes to take home the loot

Pops helping the condom London

Halloween Bingo with lots of fun prizes

London participating by eating all her M&Ms

Yummy Dinner

Thank you Pops & Sans for all the fun activities and yummy food!
Remind me next time to snap a few pics of the adults.

LifeTime Spooktacular

We decided to try the LifeTime Spooktacular this year, and I have to say the $5 I paid for each kiddo was well worth the hours of entertainment!

Sparkle Nails

Pink Hair (smart!  much faster than face painting)

Tattoos

Crafts

Spider/Reptile Man Channeling Indiana Jones

Food...while watching scorpions and snakes

London was there too.

Yum.

Pumpkin Decorating

Bounce Houses

Ginormouse Slide...I mean, what more could a kid want?

Ponies!

See you next year!  Best $5 Saturday ever!

Pumpkin Patch

Best picture of 3...London's eyes closed in all 3, Addy has something that resembles a smile on her face but isn't looking at the camera in any of them...that's weird.  And what a handsome man I married!

So we made our annual trip to THE pumpkin patch.  All you South Valley folk know which one I'm talking about.  This was our third year, so I guess it is officially a tradition.  We walked away with about 7 pumpkins for only $16.

They had these cute little blue wheelbarrows for the kids.  Addy insisted on pushing one but would get so frustrated when she couldn't steer it and it always ended up in the ditch.  Solution?

Ride in Dad's wheelbarrow.

Silly Face #1 (not a silly face on purpose, just the face that happens when I say "Look at the camera and smile.")

Silly Face #2

All in all it was a great success and fun night!  Last year little London was 4 months old in my Bjorn...where does the time go?

Gardner Village

We made the unfortunate error of making a stop at Gardner Village on the Friday of UEA and the rest of the valley was also there. Sorry I didn't say hi. Most were decked out in their costumes and other fun Halloween attire...but since this was a spur of the moment idea after the gym...our orange stroller would have to do. And by the looks of London's tank top...the weather was gorgeous!  Addy wasn't too happy with me because I refused to stand in line with the rest of the 23435708 kids there to get her face painted.  What can I say, I take after my Dad...crowds suck!

Camera Clean-Up

What were you doing on October 1st?  We were enjoying the 80 degree weather with our friend Megan at our pool.  Then...

3 weeks later, it snowed and it put London in the holiday spirit.

Just like her big sister was at this age, London is obsessed with shoes.  Mine, hers, Addy's, Jonny's...she'll wear them all...and quite well I must add.

It's so foreign to me after having Addy AKA "I'm-not-ever-going-to-smile-or-even-look-at-that-camera" Addy, to actually pull out the camera and have London look right at me and smile.

Can't get enough of those piggy tails!

Miss Modesty...or NOT

Preface:  So ever since Sister Friendly came to Primary and talked about being modest (last April), Addy always lets us know when something isn't covering her shoulders that it isn't modest.

Today Addy said to me that after she was Belle, Tinkerbell, and Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween over the next 3 years, she wanted to be Jasmine.

"But Mom, Jasmine shows her boobies."  (That skank!)

Me:  Well, maybe we can find a costume that will cover your body better so it will be modest?

Addy (without hesitation):  Or I could just show my boobies.

Prologue:  To a 4-year-old brain, as long as her shoulders are covered, might as well flaunt those boobies.  Looks like I haven't quite taught her everything yet.  I'll get Sister Friendly right on that.

Grammar 101

So, I already posted about how Addy thinks the past tense of "beat" is "butt."  She also thinks that the past tense of eat is "utt."

"Mom!  I utted my sandwich all gone!"

Looks like she's forming her own language.  Past tense, just add "utt."

Also, as I was leaving tonight to go meet with a client, she asked if I would lay by her in bed.  I told her that I had to leave to go teach someone how to eat healthy.  "Because they ate too much candy?"  Mmm, hmm.  "And so they were like this (acted out throwing up)?"  Mmm, hmm.  Looks like we shouldn't have too much of a problem with moderation with Halloween candy...she's scared to death of throwing up.

The Chile Mine Miracle

I wasn't expecting to be so emotional watching this mine rescue, but I was.
I couldn't help but let the tears fall each time I saw a man emerge from the "Phoenix" and hug his loved ones and then drop to his knees in what I can only imagine would be prayers of gratitude.  Seems to me that if you don't forget God, he doesn't forget you.

With each man who emerged and embraced his loved ones, the tears would start all over again.  I just love a happy ending!

33 Chilean miners held a half mile underground for 69 days; I'm sure there will be some amazing stories to come.   I was folding wash with a live internet feed going on my computer when Addy and friend Megan came in to see what I was watching.  I tried to explain at a 4-year-old level what happened, saying they were working underground when it collapsed and they were stuck way underground.

I had to laugh when Megan asked, "Were they building waterslides under there?"
