I wasn't expecting to be so emotional watching this mine rescue, but I was.
I couldn't help but let the tears fall each time I saw a man emerge from the "Phoenix" and hug his loved ones and then drop to his knees in what I can only imagine would be prayers of gratitude. Seems to me that if you don't forget God, he doesn't forget you.
With each man who emerged and embraced his loved ones, the tears would start all over again. I just love a happy ending!
33 Chilean miners held a half mile underground for 69 days; I'm sure there will be some amazing stories to come. I was folding wash with a live internet feed going on my computer when Addy and friend Megan came in to see what I was watching. I tried to explain at a 4-year-old level what happened, saying they were working underground when it collapsed and they were stuck way underground.
I had to laugh when Megan asked, "Were they building waterslides under there?"

I know! Every time I'd say "ok, this time I won't cry..." but I DID!! Every time!!!
