This has been an exciting year for us! We had a baby, bought a house, and decided to move back to Utah.
Jonathan is 29-years-old and will be turning the big 30 in January. He still works for KPMG as an IT auditor and will be so happy when he doesn’t have to fight LA traffic to get to work. When he told his boss he wanted to move back to Utah, she offered to pay our rent to keep him a few more months. She also wanted him to stay with the company, so she called the Salt Lake office and was able to get him transferred. When Jonny is not working, he loves to be on his bike. This year he completed the “King of the Mountain” series which consisted of three separate century rides each including a climb of at least 10,000 vertical feet! What a man! He also planned a great road trip for us in June. We went to Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, and Monterey. We had a great time camping, hiking, and seeing the beautiful sights of California. The biggest change this year for Jonny was becoming a new Dad. He is such a cute Dad and loves to snuggle with Addy when he gets home from work.
Miki is 27-years-old. She quit her job at the hospital at the beginning of the year as her new business grew (www.eatrightgetstrong.com). She picked up a fun part-time job at a high-end health club doing personal training. The biggest thing that happened to Miki this year was the change in her own body with her pregnancy—which went very smooth until the last couple of months when she was hospitalized with low amniotic fluid. After seeing her doctor twice a week and a specialist once a week and non-stress tests twice a week, she was very excited to finally have a healthy baby girl. She loves being a mother and feels so lucky to be able to stay home with Addy. She still works part-time, but usually it’s just in the evenings or on Saturdays when Jonny is home. She will be sad to leave her clients and the business she established, but looks forward to starting it up in Utah.
Addy joined our family on September 25th at 4:59 pm. She weighed in at 5 lb 15 oz. and was 18 inches long. She came a couple weeks early via C-Section because she was breech and didn’t want to turn around. She has blue eyes, blond hair, and long limbs. Not too much variety in the gene pool. We feel so lucky and so blessed to have such a sweet little spirit in our home. We just can’t believe how much we love her. She loves to eat and sleep and poop and smile and coo. She is a great baby and loves pink.
We have loved living in California, but look forward to 2007 and our return to Utah where we are building a home in Herriman. While we will miss our good friends we have made in California, we look forward to being close to family again. We are so grateful for the gospel and for our Savior Jesus Christ. We know He lives and that He loves us. We are so grateful for the Spirit which has guided us this past year in all of our decisions.
