So some of our new neighbors had us over for a BBQ last night. After finding out I went to Hillcrest, the husband (27 years old) asked if I knew Phil Mickelson's (the golfer) wife because she went to Hillcrest. I said, "Isn't Phil Mickelson in his 40s?" "How old do you think I am?"
His reply? "I don't know, like 35ish."
Awesome.

You do NOT look 35! Did he feel dumb afterwards? Maybe he just saw you at church as Sister Friendly ...? Who knows. People say the dumbest things. My husband once asked a lady when she was due (what was he thinking!) as she stood there holding a baby that looked about six months old or so.

ReplyDeleteYeah right! You SO do not look 35!! Gotta love those comments. After I had worn my hair straight for a few days, I did it curly and went to work. One of my clients breathed in through his teeth and said, "Wow...your hair really does get frizzy in the rain." Thinking that I had done it straight that day and walked outside. "Umm, nope, bud....this is what my hair looks like....ALL THE TIME!!!!" Sigh.
