12 Stitches

London crashed on her bike and this happened.  It was right around dinner time and Jonathan wasn't quite home yet.  I had four neighbors at my door in a matter of minutes offering to finish making my dinner, watch my kids, and help in any way they could. Just another confirmation that we live in the best neighborhood and I have the best neighbors.

So, we made a trip to the Instacare.  London wanted to Addy to come since she has had stitches before and she thought she would be a good support system.  (WRONG!)

They put the numbing cream on and we waiting for about 30 minutes for it to do it's thing.  Her cut was so deep the Q-tip went in about 1/3 of the way.  (shudder)

Waiting patiently.

When the doctor came in and started tugging around, she realized that London wasn't numb enough to get the deep area.  So, she was going to have to give her a shot.  She told London that it was going to hurt for just a second and she could scream and cry, but then it would be over and she wouldn't feel anything anymore.  London held my hand and tears welled up in her eyes as she got the shot, but she didn't make a peep.  I was so proud that she was so brave.

Both the nurse and the doctor were quite impressed with my well-behaved, brave, and silly 4-year-old.  Addy, on the other hand, was a bit over the top.  She kept saying, "Oh!  I can't look!  Oh my gosh!  That is so gross!"  Etc, etc, etc.   I kept giving her dirty looks telling her she wasn't helping, then finally asked the doctor if she could put a stitch in Addy's lips.  :/

London kept asking the doctor, "Are you done yet?  This is taking forever?!?"
They got a good laugh.

5 stiches on the inside and 7 on the outside

The nurses gave her all sorts of swag...otter pops, jump rope, stickers, and sunglasses.  She thought the instacare was the coolest place ever!  She was so tired on the way home, she asked if I would recline her seat back for her.  The hardest part was not swimming for 5 days, but she was a good sport.
