Fun Family Tradition

We have a really fun tradition that started with my Grandma and now my Mom continues the fun. Every year after Thanksgiving dinner is over, we clean off the table and all the ladies decorate gingerbread houses. My Mom does all the work: baking the house pieces, gathering all the candy, making the frosting, providing activities for all the kids to do so the Moms can work, etc. Thanks Coz--we had a great time.

Side note funny story: My Mom bought Ratatouille (sp?) for all the kids to watch upstairs. She blew up air mattresses and we got all of the kids in their jammies so the Moms could work uninterrupted. About an hour into the show, the only person still up their watching the movie was Jonathan--and Addy was asleep in the crib!

  1. That's such a fun tradition! Much better than football and naps!

  2. Fun tradition guys! I totally think that the moms need a break to do something without the kids! Especially on Thanksgiving! Don't you just love hangin' with the girls?

  5. Super cute! That is such a great idea. I love the part about the kids supposedly staying upstairs to watch a movie. That never works in my family either. The kids want to be where the action and the treats are found.
