Arts 'n Crafts

This is a common occurrance at our home on a daily basis. I transformed my old cookbook cupboard into "Addy's Art Cupboard" and she is always working on a project...usually before she even gets dressed. She loves using her own scissors and masking tape. So almost every project always ends up with the corners cut off, rolled up and secured with oodles of masking tape. After I get a pile of said projects on my counter, I will toss them in the garbage when she's moved on to other toys. However, Addy knows that I do this and so at least once a day she opens up the kitchen garbage and starts pulling everything back out.

I bought some "jewels" at the craft store to make "Jeweled J's" for joy school. Addy was so excited that she asked to use some of them in her early morning art project. I gave her 3, but then she asked for one more to put "right here" (pointing in between her eyes). I laughed and went into my room to finish getting ready. When I came out, here she was. She had glued the jewel in between her eyes and was so proud, but also a little frustrated that it kept sliding down her nose. Too funny. She said she learned how to do that from her cousin Annie.

  1. Grant does the same thing--he'll find his "stories" from pre-school in the trash and tell me NOT to throw them out. I wish I could keep everything, it's just not possible. I feel like I"m already swimming in paper!
