Christmas 2010

Our Christmas morning started to London waking up in tears.  This isn't uncommon.  Sometimes she is unconsolable.  I think it has something to do with MCAD because as soon as she eats, she's fine, but she won't eat because she's so mad and crying so hard.  Vicious cycle.  Anyhoo...back to Christmas.

We thought that going in and opening presents would calm London down, so we went in and woke up Addy at about 7:30 am.

She was so excited (and clearly, still tired) to get her easel, art stuff, and beads!

Opening presents didn't quite do the trick...still sad.

Santa brought London this cute wheely bug...still sad.

Her new baby doll did the trick...the tears stopped.

Lovin' on her new doll.

London was too fragile to make her stand by Addy in front of the Christmas tree, so Addy did it solo.

Later that morning, all dressed and coloring

Later we went to Gma Sans house where she kindly shared her iPad with Sami and Addy.  We had a delicious brunch there and enjoyed quality time with the family.

Then it was off to my Mom's where we had the nativity.

After throwing a royal fit, Addy was Mary.

No pictures, but my parents did a really fun game for our presents.  My Mom had a big table set up with all sorts of different food items on it.  Some was for food storage, others were just yummy treats.  She gave each adult a bucket of 100 quarters.  She played the auctioneer.  Attached to each item was an envelope and we learned quickly that their was cash inside those envelopes.  It was either a $10, $20 or a $50.  Jonathan and I walked away with $250 in cash as well as some token food items.  It was really competitive and really fun (because we won the most money).

And just for the record, Jonathan gave me my first sewing machine, per my request.  I'm ready to be crafty!

  1. Heh, heh.... love the obedience reminder on Addi's easel.

As far as the morning meltdowns and the MCAD: My solution is to just get her up at 2 in the morning and let her watch some cartoons and have a snack :) It's not like you have anything else going on that time of day/night, right?
