We left Johannesburg in the morning and set off on a two hour drive to Sun City. It's a resort town just outside of Pilanesburg National Park.

It has 3 hotels, a water park, and a whole bunch of activities like zip lining, horseback riding, golfing, and my favorite, the Segway tour. It also backs up to a national park where you can do a game drive.
But before we even arrived, we drove through many different towns with houses like this.
Out in the middle of nowhere. It was time to reflect and count our many, many blessings.
When we arrived at Sun City, we had a scheduled game drive, so we all loaded up in the vehicle and were ready to see some animals!
Our driver who showed us his big ol' gun he had...just in case.
The scenery was quite beautiful, reminded me a lot of Utah, until you saw the animals.
This is an impala. We heard the joke numerous times that these are the "McDonalds" of the bush because of the "M's" that are on their rears.
After our game drive we had a little bit of free time to go check out Sun City and some of the activities. Our tour guide kept referring to one of the hotels, The Palace of the Lost City, as a 6-star hotel and that no one was allowed on the grounds unless you were a resident.
The zip line was closed and the waterpark was rather pricey for only having a little over an hour, so there was a small group of us that really wanted to try to sneak into this 6-star hotel and see what all the fuss was about. After a few failed attempts to even get close, we thought we'd go check out the Segway tour. On our way to find that, we found the other "non-6-star hotel" and easily walked right into that pool area. "Pool Poaching" as our friend Brad called it.
I hung out here while all the guys had competitions to see who could swim the farthest in one breath and took turns going down that waterslide.
This little guy joined me.
And that was the end of our Day 3.
