We had the wonderful opportunity to take some of the oldest grandkids and go downtown to the administrative building to see Pops & Sans get set apart as a mission president. Elder Perry was very kind, funny, and friendly. He mentioned how this is such an exciting time in missionary work. We laughed when he described all the sisters sending in applications as "glamour girls" with their make-up, hair, and professional pictures and how the elders pictures are just a snapshot of them up against some random wall. He shared his secret stash of M&Ms with the kids and told them to memorize the Articles of Faith. Sami was able to recite the 4th article of faith on cue at his request.
Nothing like getting the ol' shoulder hug from an apostle of the Lord.
It's official.
David was able to fly in for the occasion, but we sure missed Lindsay and their cute kiddos.
