Lucky Me

I am a day late, but in the spirit of Valentine's Day I wanted to write some of the many reasons why I am the luckiest girl in the world to be married to Jonathan and some of the things I love about him.

  • He is so supportive of everything I do. He let's me work and do what I love at night which means he's sometimes home alone and watching Addy.
  • He is the most selfless man I know. He is always thinking of Addy and I and our needs before his own. I don't remember the last time he bought anything for himself.
  • He is dedicated. Whether it's work or church or family--you can always count on Jonathan. He still gets up at 5 or 6 am to study his scriptures while his wife sleeps.
  • He is thoughtful. He planned our Valentine's date a month in advance, got reservations, asked his parents to babysit (thanks John & Sans), bought me roses. Cute!
  • He is the best Dad. There is a reason why from the time he walks in the door to the time she goes to bed Addy is constantly following him repeating over and over, "Da da, da dee" and it's because he is the best Dad. Addy misses him when he's gone and can't get enough of him when he's home.
  • He's talented. Jonathan is so good at anything he does, seriously. He's an amazing snow skiier, water skiier, road biker, mountain climber, etc.
  • He is a heater. When he's in the bed, I can get warm in about 1 minute flat. If I go to bed without him (which is rare because I'm the night owl), I'm tempted to pull out the blow dryer to warm up my bed.
  • He cleans up after himself. He is the best bathroom cleaner and vacuums like a champ.
  • He has the most amazing eyes--I love it when he smiles, he gets these cute lines and his eyes almost disappear.
  • He is hot! :-) I especially love it when he's dressed up in his church clothes and smelling like Gio--hard to concentrate in church.
  • He's patient. I am a reality show junkie. Project Runway, American Idol, Amazing Race, Survivor--you name it, I like it. However, Jonathan is not so much a fan. He puts up with my shows even if he doesn't want to.
  • He is so smart, especially when it comes to computers. If something goes wrong, he can fix it lickity split--no matter what it is...printer, internet, etc. I love that.
  • He drives a truck. Okay, this isn't a reason at all, but when we were dating, he told me that's why he thought I liked him. Puh-lease.
  • He is the best! There were two separate occasions last week where people told me what an amazing guy he is, as if I didn't know. 1. My Dad. After a family dinner, Jonathan was helping clean up, putting tables and chairs away and I was sitting next to my Dad and he said to me, "That Jonny sure is a great guy, isn't he?" Yes sir! A couple days before that the EQ president called to see if Jonny had done his home teaching, he wasn't home, but I told the pres. that I knew he had done it. The EQ pres. then said, "I sure hope you know that you are married to such a great man. He is so helpful and diligent in everything he does." It's all true.

I could go on and on. Jonathan, I want you to know that I am so lucky you picked me. Thanks for being such an amazing husband and father. I know that I don't deserve such an incredible man, but thank you for always making me feel like I do. I know I got a good one.

Happy Valentine's Day! I love you.
