We went with the Carlson's to Yuba Lake for a fun overnighter (and by fun I mean sleepless). We headed down Friday afternoon, set up camp, slept overnight (at least Addy did), and then had a fun Saturday boating.
We took my Mom's big 8-man Springbar tent so we could all fit as well as London's pack 'n play. London slept from about 9 pm until 3 am. I tried to get her back to sleep but everytime I put her back in her bed, she would cry. Normally not that big of a deal if we were just with the Carlsons, but the whole beach was FULL of people and I just couldn't let her cry. (I'm such a courteous camper) So, I ended up putting her in the car and driving for a while until she'd fall asleep, then I'd park and sleep for a little bit. Then, she'd wake up and start crying, so then I would start driving again. This lovely cycle went on until about 7 or 8 am. Then we headed back to our camp spot.
My oldest brother Tyler taking after my Mom and fixing us all a lovely hot breakfast (this was after his dutch over dinner of goulash, herb bread, and pineapple upside-down cake). Yum!
The kids enjoyed it too.
Will playing in the sand
London climbing on chairs
I can't figure out why London doesn't like to wear her life jacket.
Drinking high fructose corn syrup
London has NEVER fallen asleep like this EVER. Probably because she usually doesn't get up at 3 in the morning. She just laid down on the boat and was out for a couple of hours. Luckily, I got a little nap too.
Jenni getting in some good turns! This is definitely a water-skiing family. Tyler takes his little boy Will (not quite 2) and Annie (4) waterskiing by wearing 2 skis and then he puts their feet on the skis and they hold on to the rope. It's quite amazing! (Jenni, send me the pictures)
Thanks for inviting us Tyler & Jenni...even with the sleepless night, we'd do it again!
