My baby is a pumpkin. Hopefully he's not the size of those two huge ones that sat out on our porch until, uh, yesterday. I can't believe I only have 7 weeks to go (possibly 6 if this baby ends up being breech and C-section like his two older sisters)! This pregnancy has been very similar to my others. I've had the usual horrible case of daily heartburn from about 28 weeks remedied by always having Tums within arm's reach. I will say that I am significantly more tired at the end of the day than with previous pregnancies but that likely has a direct correlation to my sassy 2-year-old that likes to push every button I've got. Other than that, I've felt great, been able to continue to workout and do all my normal activities. If surrogacy wasn't so controversial, I think I'd be a good candidate with how relatively easy my pregnancies are.
I'd like to say that everything is ready to go, but it's not even close! We have been slowly moving things around to get Addy and London in the same room so we can start on Little Buddy's very manly nursery (no yellow allowed). We set up a make-shift toy room in our unfinished basement to make room for London in Addy's room. Wish we would have done this like a year ago...heaven! I love having all the toys out of her room. Can't wait for it to be a finished toy room so the girls don't have to freeze down there, but they don't seem to mind. Addy's room has been repainted (no more polka dots) and over the next week or so there will be stenciling, dresser painting, sewing, and bunkbed building. THEN we can start on the nursery. Jonathan has been the one doing all the work with not a peep of complaint. He's been coming home from very long days at work only to change his clothes and continue with the various painting projects. I think he's wanting to get going on Little Buddy's room too.
As for what to name this baby? Sigh. Little Buddy and "Baby Brudder" can only last for so long, right? I guess at this point our two main goals when we leave the hospital will be to have a healthy baby boy (preferrably not the size of our large porch pumpkin) with a name and a new carseat because at this point, we've got neither. Who knew carseats expired? We can always stop at Target on the way home and pick up some diapers and onesies, right? Poor 3rd child...we'll get it together...don't worry.
I need to get a new carseat too as I have used the same one since Bentley--oops! Thought I could save money using the same stuff over and over...boo.
ReplyDeletePlay rooms are the best! Somehow my kids love to drag their things out of ours and take them back to their own bedrooms, my bedroom, basically everywhere except where they belong and we spend way too much time putting everything back into the playroom!
Hope your transition to the girls sharing a room is a good one. Mine are newly doing that and about every 3rd night it doesn't quite work (Livs likes to keep Cares awake :) I hope one day it will just "take" and last forever...?
I found out that interesting tidbit as well, about the car seats expiring. Who knew? I think they just want your money.... But Crew looks so happy in his big boy car seat that looks a lot more comfy than what Kinley and Tanner enjoyed!
