Jonathan has been working in Seattle for the past couple months. Instead of him coming home for the weekend, Addy and I went to Seattle. It was my first time there and it was beautiful. We had nice weather Thursday through Saturday, then it rained Sunday. I was a tad nervous to fly with Addy now that she is the ultimate wiggle worm. I had an aisle seat on the flight there and there was an open seat next to me. I kept hoping and praying that no one would sit there. After everyone was seated a pilot flying stand-by came up to our row, looked at the empty seat, looked at my wiggly Addy, and asked, "Is that the only seat left?" Yes sir. "Hmm....looks like you've got your hands full. I'll go sit in the cockpit." Yahoo! This trip I realized that I no longer have a little baby I can tote anywhere I go. Addy missed sleeping in her crib and decided to let us know that by waking up every other hour at night. She also found it very difficult to take a nap when she could see us in the hotel room. Nothing like traveling with an overly tired baby. :-) To top it all off, she woke up Friday morning with two pink eyes and a rash all over her belly and back. Her pediatrician suggested we have someone look at her ears. I tried to find Seattle Grace and Dr. McDreamy... google didn't have him listed. Bummer. So, we spent the morning in urgent care. Fun! All in all, it was great to see Jonny and fun to see where he works. It was great to explore a new city and see some of the classic tourist sites.

This is outside the flagship REI store in Seattle, within walking distance from our hotel. Jonny was in heaven!
View from the Space Needle. They actually feel okay about charging you $16 each to ride an elevator. Looks like we're the suckers.
Addy in her little hospital gown at Seattle Grace. (I wish!) Of course, it was just a virus, can't do anything about it. Love that response from the doctor. I bet Dr. McDreamy could do something!
How fun that you guys got to go visit Jonny. I've never been to Seattle, but it looks beautiful!! Poor Addy - I hope she's feeling better and getting ready for her big 1 next week :) We can't wait to see you guys... it has been too long.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know you were a fan of Grey's! Maybe we should have some viewing get togethers. ;) I'm sure your right...if the Dr's at Grace can save a boy impaled by a tree, a little virus would be a cake walk for them!! Especially Dr. McDreamy.;) Hope she's feeling better. Sounds like a fun trip.
ReplyDeleteHi Miki,
ReplyDeleteI'm Dede's friend and I saw your link on her BLOG. She also told me to check out your little girls room, which is darling! Anyway, I was reading your post and SO surprised b/c my little girl (who is just a few weeks older than Sage) got a rash today all over her tummy & back. Someone also suggested that I have her ears checked out and today I took her to a ped. and he said that she is reacting to her MMR shot that she got last week. As your daughter had that shot yet? Wondering what you've discovered in the cause of rash for you. So funny to read your BLOG b/c we are going through all the same things w/ our little girls. I've decided I just can't travel w/ Sage - at least for the time being. It just isn't worth it!! Anyway, email me about the rash and what you've found out. I've very curious. joceeb@gmail.com OR, my blog is bergesons.blogspot.com. :)
Thanks,
Jocee
Hi again,
ReplyDeleteI meant that Sage is a few weeks older than Addy. :) Sorry, hard to concentrate when Sage is tugging at my legs the whole time!!
Jocee
Hope she's feeling better! Sick babies are never fun, especially traveling!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just noticed on the Lilypie thing at the top of your blog that it's Addy's birthday! Woohoo! First birthdays are just the best! Hope hers is a great one!
ReplyDeleteMiki -

Riley
Hi Miki! I'd love to hear more about Seattle. I realize the hospital wasn't on my list of recommendations so you'll have to let us know how it was. Ha ha, NOT! I'm so sorry aout all of that but Addy is such a sweetie! I remember thinking, "her being fussy is so quiet!!" Compared to my babies I guess. Hope we can get together soon!!!
