Jonathan was coloring in a coloring book with Addy. Addy was coloring one page and Jonathan was meticulously coloring Big Bird on the other page. This is the conversation:
Addy: Daddy, color your page too?
Jonathan: No Addy, you can color your own page.
Me: Jonathan!
Jonathan: What? She CAN color her own page. I'm doing this one.
Addy: Daddy, color your page?
Jonathan: No Addy. This is Daddy's page.
Me: Jonathan!?!
(At this point, He only had Big Bird's head left to color)
Jonathan: What? She doesn't stay in the lines.
Me: (Silence as I realize what he just said, then I started laughing). Are you being serious right now? She's two.
Jonathan: I don't care, she can color her own page.
(Addy just takes over his page and Big Bird's head becomes a scribbled mess of blue)
Jonathan: See! That looks horrible!
Me: Seriously?!? Reminder....she's TWO!!
Jonathan: Well, she needs to learn that coloring like that just doesn't look good.
Who knew that Jonathan loved to color so much?!? Looks like I know what I'm getting him for Father's Day...his very own coloring book collection.
I don't think Addy was damaged too much because she has continued to color many more pages, out of the lines, with great confidence.
Your mom told us this story when we talked to her this morning. We were laughing so hard!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should put Jonny's pictures he colored on the blog. That way we all can fully appreciate how good he is at staying in the lines. :)
That is so funny because as we sat behind you in church we noticed how much fun Jonathon was having coloring in Addy's book. He did stay in the lines, and the picture was perfect :-). So funny.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty much like an auditor. We should get your Jonathan and Steve together to color sometime. I bet they'd be lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe laughed so hard when we read this. Travis came up with a good idea that maybe we should all send Johnnny a coloring book so he has a few of his own!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! Seriously men are so funny sometimes.
