Heaven 2011...Or Cancun

For the second year in a row, my sisters-in-law and I were treated to a little slice of heaven courtesy of our mother-in-law.  This year, we were down one SIL due to pregnancy, we added one more day to our hectic schedule of events, and we upgraded to an amazing resort!

View from our room

Aqua Live...where all your dreams come true (or is that Disneyland?)

So...our daily activities went a little like this:
Sleep in (because we could!), hit the delicious breakfast buffet, then plant ourselves poolside for the next six hours.  We had good books in hand and a short leash on our poolside waiter and we were all in heaven!

Cute Lindsay...could be an ad for the Kindle don't you think?

Rachel...doing her "best pose" as we witnessed a pair of couples engage in some rather embarrassing photo shoots.  Made for some good laughs.

Chillin on the gorgeous beach
Two of the funniest gals I know!
(27 weeks preggers)

After a day in the sun, we I would waddle back to our room.  One day we worked out.  One day we went to the spa.  One day we went shopping.  After exerting such energy all day, we were ready to eat again!  We'd head back to our room to select our aromatherapy for the night, catch up on what the Dads and kiddos had been up to, and laugh just a little more.  Rinse, wash, repeat!

Now, to the random portion of this posting...

The Indianapolis Colts had sent their sponsors to the resort for the weekend, so Blue, their mascot became our best friend.

These guys were from Australia who confided in Sans to make sure they didn't look gay, they were nervous they appeared to be so.  Sans became their step-in-mom for the next few days.

Lindsay and I participated in the "Aqua Stretching" class two of the mornings which somehow turned into some kind of Greek wedding dance.

Just a little shopping

Classic.  Sandi reluctlantly joined the picture by throwing on the child-size mask so her eye is peering out of the nose hole.  Awesome.

Our favorite waiter, Gilberto

We celebrated Lindsay's birthday the last night we were there and Gilberto brought out this lovely cake which said, "Happy Birthday Princess!"  Too bad it was the worst tasting cake we had ever had.

So Rachel pointed out the man behind her's interesting position, not to mention the butt behind him...so I made her pose on the bed so we could capture the memory.

Our benefactress.  Best mother-in-law in the world!

And so as life becomes more crazy over these next few months, I'm going to use the techniques I learned in "Aqua Stretching" and take myself back to this lovely slice of heaven from time to time.

Love you gals!

  2. Remind me next time that I feel bad for you for any reason that you have been to Cancun two years in a row. Wait a minute--I never have felt bad for you. I want your life. Mine's good. . . but not Cancun good.

  3. That truly does sound like heaven! Looks gorgeous there. Last time I was in Cancun I was in like 8th grade and I don't remember the beaches being that white and pretty. I am needing a Cancun trip of my own! How can I get my mother-in-law to whisk me away? Any tips? :)

  9. I am so jealous; I could use that vacation right about now! We haven't come up with a name yet, so I guess I don't have any spares :) I might be one of those people with a one-week-old that we're still calling "baby". You?
